Rude note about region
16 Sep 2022, 21:39:06
I was surprised to see my inbox today. It was a note from someone who received a postcard from me.
I sent my beautiful card from South Carolina, had real stamps on it, and apparently I was mistaken in sending a postcard of Hawaii volcanoes(which is in the United States) to this person.
I got an incredibly mean note and low rating. Has anyone else had issues with someone named Maria.Mendy?
I try to match my postcard with the likes of the person and I thought a representative card of the United States was very thoughtful.
I don't understand the low rating when I was so nice to her in our former correspondence. She's from Gambia but sent a postcard from Germany? I didn't rate her down for that.
Unless the card is completely inappropriate I don't rate down. Someone please help me remedy this. She is not doing any favors for the site. Is she a postcrossing worker sent here to eliminate the joy of sending postcards to people.

Hmm, if we want more members on this site, it does not help that Marie Mendy has give one star ratings five times in January and the first half of February 2024 alone! These people are now basically banned from sending postcards for quite a while. That cannot be the goal of this site.

Same here. I don't agree with the tone Marie Mendy (and her partner) uses either. I was accused of being lazy and dishonest. Not two attributes I take lightly. Especially not as I did send a Tyrolian postcard from Tyrol with Austrian stamps. I just don't change the postcard ID from DE to AT. As I live in Germany, right on the Austrian border. As you pick an item from the list, this just doesn't add anything in my opinion.

You agree to the conditions every time you apply for an address - and then you don't send the card according to the conditions and complain if someone tells you? Who's the one to excuse?

I came here to ask/discuss the exact same thing with the exact same user: Maria.Mendy.

So because she gave me a 1, I'm guessing that's why I'm unable to send additional cards? I used to be able to send 5 at a time, but now it's down to 2. I already have some out there (4 of them), so I can't send anymore since I'm technically over?

Wow. What a sh*t experience. I'm thinking about cancelling and just doing PCUnited and P-Crossing only.

Thanks Danubius, I agree!

I also remember it in the profile ;-)
It almost never happens to me (perhaps because it is in the profile), but I am noticing postcards that have very little Geo (and even with 5 ...). Pity !
On shipping, in Italy it is not easy because they cancel the stamps at the mechanized Postal Centers and they are few (from here they go to MI. Roserio).
Thanks again

It's nice to receive any postcard in the mail box. Thats the big picture.
For this club in particular it's important to match the region, card and cancelation.
It's nice to receive a card about NY that was actually mailed from NY. This is what makes this project unique. It's not a generic postcards club. It's Geography Postcards. And most members are here because of this reason.

If something doesn't go well, we still need to be polite with each other. In most cases this can be rezolved with a resend.

To avoid low ratings and bans from other members, I encourage you to use postcards that are about the selected region and that are maild from that region.

If there are no members available at some times, it's because we need more members in this club. I'm looking for solutins to increase the number of members.

sometimes there is no available partners if i want to send from my region, so i have to change region to be able to send, i don't think i should give up sending until i find a new partner to send to from my region, but if i change region i usually send a postcard depicting that region and i think this is the important thing.
i think it shouldn't be important the region where you actually put your postcard in the public mailbox

I understand that it wasn't my exact sub region, I sincerely thought she would like it since it is a beautiful expensive card. Plus I sent it from south carolina.
Should I have sent it as a Hawaiian subregion? I have also received many non specific subregion cards and have never felt the need to leave a long scathing message to the person sending. I've never felt the need to call someone "white dirt" either for sending the wrong card. I guess this site is full of people who are quick to judge and not even let me correct it. I would have sent another card but she was so nasty I just couldn't even do anything except pray for her. Thank you for your opinion. I understand I made a mistake but if you look at the cards I send, almost all are South Carolina cards. It was a special card and she made me feel like crap for sending it

This website is for sending postcards from your own sub-region. You should send postcards featuring postcards about South Carolina. If you send something elsewhere, a violation of guidelines happens from your side. That is a fair reason for giving a low rating.
