Hello there! I’m Noora, currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science in Dublin, Ireland. I was born and raised in China, and have since lived in Wuhan, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen, as well as in Singapore and the United Kingdom — always curious about how people live, think, and feel around the world.
As I enter the final year of my doctoral studies, I’m preparing to wrap up this phase of my academic journey. My research focuses on fairness in machine learning, which—like life itself—is about balance, uncertainty, and sometimes struggle. Honestly, it hasn't been easy. There were moments I felt lost, burned out, and unsure of what I was doing. But I've also had moments of healing—through cooking, long walks by the sea, quiet therapy sessions, and handwritten letters like this.
I love blues music (especially the kind that aches a little), indie films, handwritten journals, and the smell of coffee early in the morning. I believe that life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful, and sometimes a small sentence from a stranger can unexpectedly light up the day.
Postcard Preferences:
I’d be happy to receive any kind of postcard. But if you’re wondering what to send, here are some ideas:
Something that feels poetic, a little melancholic, or quietly beautiful
Local bookstores, cafés, train stations, old houses, or everyday life scenes
Vintage designs, black & white photography, or something unexpectedly weird
A quote, a short story, or your personal reflection on a bad day that got better
If you like blues too, feel free to recommend a song!
More than the picture, I treasure your words. Feel free to write whatever’s on your mind—random thoughts, life updates, a piece of advice, or just something that made you smile lately. I’d be grateful.
Please do not send any postcards that
show snake(s) :(
Looking forward to crossing paths with you, even just on paper.
