Geography Postcards.

Edit 04 Nov. 2026: All of my sending slots are full to distant and slow routes. I have expired incoming cards, so there's nothing to register. Therefore, if you see my "last activity" is long ago, it is because I have no reason to log in. Please trust that I will come here as soon as I receive a card or get notification that one of my cards arrived. I am still here and hoping for good luck.

Greetings from California, USA. I am excited to learn about where you live. Travel is not available to me, so these cards are special.

Examples: view cards; famous parks; historical buildings; natural landmarks; public art; festivals; local traditions; indigenous cultures; geology; regional crafts, theater, music, and dance; native flora and wild fauna; archaeology; or unique and perhaps odd local traits such as the world's biggest shoe, a haunted cave, and so on.

Vintage and antique cards are welcome!

When possible, please AVOID:
--"cute" or fantasy CARTOON illustrations, especially imaginary animals/people;
--Postrossing group-stamped MEET UP cards; and
--AI-GENERATED cards.

Those things are fine for other contexts, but Geography Postcards is a different category of cards.

If unrealistic cartoons, meet-up cards, or AI-creations are all you have, I would be happy with a substitute, such as a museum brochure, train tickets, map, your sketch of your neighborhood, local photograph, a letter describing your lifestyle, etc. AI-generated photos/illustrations do not accurately represent our lives or our regions. It is getting more difficult to distinguish what is AI, but I am doing my best to avoid it. Actually, that's a big reason why I love vintage and antique cards. Even if they have been changed (colorized, etc.), it is still human decisions.

I apologize that this profile sounds like “do this, don’t do that”. The fact is, almost every time I try to send a card I am told there are no available partners. It is very limited. In such exclusivity, I would prefer to see a real representation of other users’ local lives in return for mine. I believe this is fair, because the Geography Postcards site has this specific goal.

Please write anything that you feel like sharing. Whatever language you are comfortable writing is fine.
